Keeping their wicks trimmed properly will help your candles burn, last longer and avoid sooty marks.
Wick scissors can reach right to the bottom on the candle because of the angle and means there are no accidents with sooty fingers or carpets (from bitter experience) plus they look pretty.
Let the candle come to room temperature, then trim the wick to 5mm before relighting. That length helps create complete combustion, which means less soot is formed while the candle is burning.
